Levitra (Vardenafil) is categorized as a phosphodiesterase inhibitor. It facilitates the relaxation of muscles and enhances blood circulation to the penis during sexual arousal, enabling men to obtain and sustain an erection. Levitra is intended to address erectile dysfunction (impotence).

Refrain from taking Levitra if you are simultaneously using nitrate medications for chest discomfort or heart issues (such as nitroglycerin). If you feel dizzy, nauseous, or experience pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw during sexual activity, halt and immediately contact your physician. You might be experiencing a serious adverse reaction to Levitra. If your erection is painful or endures for more than 4 hours, reach out to your doctor or seek urgent medical help, as a prolonged erection (priapism) can harm the penis.

In order to ensure that you can safely use Levitra, inform your doctor if you have any of the following conditions: heart disease, irregular heart rhythms; a recent history (within the last 6 months) of a heart attack, stroke, or congestive heart failure; a personal or family background of "Long QT syndrome"; issues with high or low blood pressure; seizures; liver or kidney disorders (or if you are undergoing dialysis); blood disorders such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia; bleeding issues like hemophilia; a stomach ulcer; auditory or visual impairments, or a history of vision loss; eye conditions such as retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited eye disorder); a physical deformity of the penis (like Peyronie's disease); or if it has been advised that you should avoid sexual intercourse for health-related reasons.

Levitra could reduce blood flow to the optic nerve, which may lead to sudden vision loss. This has been observed in a small number of patients taking vardenafil, most of whom had pre-existing conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or specific eye-related issues, particularly those who smoke or are over 50 years old. It is uncertain if Levitra is the definitive cause of vision loss. Cease using Levitra and seek emergency medical assistance if sudden vision loss occurs.
